Although the art of Nomen was born with letters the artist felt a great need to expand his art by adding and developing a new approach to figurative faces, usually women, which has been painting since 1994 when he drew his first face.

Nomen was a pioneer in Portugal by painting photo-realism with a spray can. The world of faces and expressions have become a personal stamp to the artist ever since, and is quite evident in his murals and buildings.
